A Diet Pill Post By Galway Fitness Coach John Mulry
Take this pill to lose 600 lbs in 16 seconds – wash this powder down with 2 cups of celery and clap your hands twice while your eyes are closed to magically burn belly fat. Now hopefully there are no such products or methods out there but with all the other nonsense that is out there ya wouldn’t really be surprised would you?
My new Muse and friend Colleen asked me to write this article for you – on Diet pills and honestly it’s good timing because it seems they’re becoming more and more prevalent in the fitness and weight loss industry. Should you take diet pills? Which ones should you take? What are the side effects? Today I’m going to explore some of the facts and myths of diet pills and give you a clearer understanding on them. There are loads of different pills potions and lotions out there in the market today and trying to decipher which ones may help from the ones that may harm is no easy feat. There are lots of facts and myths surrounding staying in shape and the diet pill world too but (and you’re welcome to disagree) to me and my philosophy towards achieving lasting Galway fitness success there’s only one fact and one overall myth when it comes to diet pills…
• Diet pills will get you the body you want without any effort…
• Diet pills are created for people suffering from “easy-way-out-itious”.
Now while that’s a big big generalisation of all the products available – whether they’re diet pills supplements or whatever there’s method behind it. I’ve been asked quite a bit about different supplements to recommend and my answer is always the same – before meddling with diet pills and supplements or anything like that it’s important to get the basics dialled in – once you’ve got the basics of eating clean, moving more and a strong reason why – I’ll bet you’ll find you won’t need any diet pills or supplements as you’ll achieve your goals 9.5 times out of 10 by dialling in those factors…that may be a hard pill to swallow (pun most definitely intended) and I could just end things right there – I feel there is a problem with what the mass producing diet pill companies are doing by trying and take advantage of a problem we all have - “easy-way-out-itious”.
First thing with diet pills – after doing some research on them I was surprised to find that they’ve been around a lot longer than I imagined – they’ve been knocking about since the 1800’s – although I bet the ones back then didn’t come with a host of ingredients that you’d need a PhD in bio chemistry, etymology and mumbo jumbo to be able to pronounce and understand.
We never really understand what’s in them – so we just read the clever packaging and pictures with the proposed benefits that they’re promoting and hope for the best. On top of that all the latest diet pills, potions and lotions today seem to come with some extravagant ingredient found in the depths of some far off rainforest or jungle underneath sleeping orchids and is so rare and secret that is highly elusive and difficult to extract (yet they can be reproduced in mass quantities in factories and shipped anywhere in the world). Weird don’t ya think?
Are all diet pills bad?
Probably not – but it’s what they’re promising is bad – what they’re promoting is bad – they promote the idea, the dream if you will that just take these and your problems will disappear. No work necessary – swallow this pill and wake up “better”. Actually almost every diet pill out there in the market today now must come with something along the lines of “must be taken along regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.”
That right there is the magic of diet pills not the hokem that’s inside of them – sure some of the ingredients are beneficial and may aid in the process but true long-lasting weight loss and fitness success comes not from a bottle but from you – and your willingness to put in the time and effort needed to succeed. Unfortunately though a lot of people are reluctant to put in the hard work needed – so this is when the big companies cash in with their “magic solutions”.
“Easy-way-out-itious” is a term I like to use and it’s something I suffer from at times. You know when ya have to get something done and ya struggle to find the motivation – ya start looking for an easier way. It’s a terrible thing – no one escapes it – we all suffer from it – I must mention (and this is something I’ve learned from Tommy Hopkins – the legendary speaker and presenter) there’s nothing wrong with looking for an easier way of doing things – it’s human nature – the problem comes when we start looking for a magical way or quick fix way of doing things.
Things simply don’t work that way – there’s no genie in the bottle, so magic lotion, potion or pill. Want to know the secret to fat loss? It comes from three things – eating better than you’re currently eating, moving more than you’re currently moving and believing in your reason why and your goals. No magic pill, no ointment lotion or potion. Training, Nutrition & Mindset – get them three things in order and you’re on a winner – guaranteed.
